An affinity for technology has always been one of Karina Hellbert’s characteristic traits. Therefore, she started her career not with the study of law, but with that of microbiology, with a focus on medical biochemistry. Having completed both studies, she is familiar with both technical and related legal requirements. After her undergraduate studies, she first completed an LL.M. course in the Netherlands (Pallas Program – European Business Law) before working for Covington & Burling in the life science sector in Brussels for several years. After her training period at a renowned law firm in Vienna, she was admitted to the bar in 2007. Since the beginning, her focus has been consistently on the life science area, in pharmaceuticals and medical devices – from product development to reimbursement and patent litigation. In addition to her work as a lawyer, she is also interested in teaching and publishing, e.g. as a lecturer at Danube University and Paracelsus Medical Private University, or as an author, e.g. Handbook of Pharmaceutical Law (2021 in 2nd edition), Product Liability in National and International Contracts, Kluwer Handbook of Patent Law or in the journal Recht der Medizin. s a long-distance hiker, she knows one thing: the way is the goal, and only together as a team with the client can one find the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
